Twiggy. Iman. Kendall?! Jenner Sister Drops Last Name for Modeling Career

Call her what you will on the catwalk, just don’t call her by her last name.
Kendall Jenner, the eldest daughter of Kris and Bruce Jenner, is apparently a “Jenner” no more — at least not when she’s on the runway.

Popular style site Racked first noticed Thursday that she’s simply called “Kendall” on her modeling agency’s website. And it’s not just a typo on The Society Management’s landing page — over on her personal page, it’s even more clear that she’s dropped her famous surname.

The move by the 18-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is understandable. While her family name no doubt helped her get to where she is, she wants to prove that she’s deserves to be there. And when you’re part of the most social media present family on the planet, and your brother-in-law Kanye West shows up to cheer you on backstage, things can certainly get a little embarrassing at times.

“I want to be taken seriously,” she told LOVE magazine for her cover story in July. “People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn’t. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model. Because of the TV show.

“I went on castings and some people weren’t feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn’t recognize me. I was like, ‘Thank you. Please don’t recognize me.'”

Yahoo reached out to the PR department at The Society Management for further clarification, but hasn’t heard back yet. Still, we’re pretty sure this move is as intentional as it gets.

Kendall’s modeling career has taken off in the past year. She made her modeling debut in February during New York Fashion Week, where she was almost unrecognizable as she strutted her stuff in the Marc Jacobs show. Then in May, she landed her first major spread in the French edition of Vogue.

By June, she booked her first major fashion campaign with Givenchy. And in July, she made her haute couture catwalk debut for Chanel working a punk rock bird look at the Grand Palais at Paris Fashion Week.

Kim must be so proud!

Kendall Jenner Says Older Sister Kim Kardashian Is Perfect And Naturally Beautiful

jen-karThe Kardashian-Jenner clan has always been open about how close the family is and are also not afraid to talk about their conflicts. The youngest members of Bruce and Kris Jenner’s brood of ten kids, Kendall and Kylie, have recently come out as celebrities in their own right and are slowly coming out of their older siblings’ shadows. In a recent interview, Kendall talks about life in the spotlight and growing up with perfect sister, Kim Kardashian.

“It’s also hard when your sister is perfect at all times and is just like naturally beautiful.” said Kendall when asked about growing up in the spotlight and being under pressure to look and act according to the Hollywood standard. In an interview with Du Jour magazine, Kendall and Kylie talk candidly about growing up in a celebrity family.

Kim is just one of the older sisters that the Jenner girls look up to with Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian also celebrities themselves thanks to the family’s long-running reality TV show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” The girls clarify however, that they didn’t just start their life under the flashing lights since the family shot to fame through reality TV. Kendall and Kylie have been walking red carpets since they were little because they are daughters of renowned Olympian Bruce Jenner. The sisters have been exposed to paparazzi and film cameras nearly all their life and know nothing else. Kendal jokingly comments that she doesn’t forsee getting rid of the cameras in the near future because it’s not exactly the worst job in the world.

Dealing with fame entails dealing with intrusion and constant criticism. Kylie shares that sometimes she comes out without thinking about looking good and regrets it later when she sees the photos. Kylie shares that it’s lucky that they live in a gated community where the photographers can’t get too close to their home. She further shares that because Kim lives with her and mom Kris Jenner at the moment while her own house is undergoing renovations, she is able to draw the paparazzi away from her younger siblings when she leaves the house first.

Growing up under the spotlight also exposed the sisters to the constant scrutiny from the public. Kendall shares that she found it strange that her sister Kylie had been accused of changing her whole face through plastic surgery.

The Jenner sisters now have careers of their own in the fashion and entertainment industry with collaborations for clothing and shoe lines out in the market. They are also now in demand to make appearances in various TV shows and photo shoots. The Du Jour feature includes an interview and a full photo spread shot by famous photographer Bruce Weber.

Outrage over Kardashian sisters ‘TEXTING’ and chatting at MTV VMAs during a solemn moment of silence for Michael Brown

Kim Kardashian and her half-sisters are drawing fury over social media for appearing to send text messages while the audience at MTV’s Video Music Awards took a moment of silence in honor of slain black teenager Michael Brown.

Rapper Common was on stage to present the nominees for best hip hop video when he asked the crowd on Sunday to take a minute to think about Brown’s death and the racially-charged clashes between police and protesters in Ferguson, Missouri.

‘Hip hop has always presented a voice for the revolution,’ the rapper told the crowd at the Forum in Inglewood. ‘I want us all to take a moment of silence for Mike Brown and for peace in this country and in the world.’

The crowd grew silent while the artists bowed their heads in respectful silence. Snoop Dogg offered a peace sign, his head hanging low.

But when the camera cut over to Kim and sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner in their front-row seats, the three were busy staring into their phone screens.

The three looked bored — texting or checking social media or otherwise chatting amongst themselves — while the rest of the audience held the moment of silence.

Were Kim Kardashian and the Jenner Sisters Really Texting During the Ferguson VMA Tribute?!

Looks like the Kardashians have some explaining to do.

When rapper Common asked for a moment in silence for the late Michael Brown — the unarmed 18-year-old who was fatally shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri — during Sunday’s VMAs, the camera cut to Kim Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner, who appeared to be texting amongst themselves instead.

Later that evening, Brown headed to the upmarket 1OAK nightclub on Sunset Boulevard to host another party where record label boss Knight was reportedly shot at least twice in the arm and stomach.

Kendall & Kylie Jenner Reveal Knife Fight On ‘Ridiculousness’

Kendall and Kylie Jenner tell all about their rambunctious childhood on a brand new episode of Ridiculousness, and we’ve got the exclusive first look.

The famous sisters of the Kardashian/Jenner clan are besties these days, but it wasn’t always that way.

Host Rob Dyrdek asks Kendall and Kylie about their childhood fights, and the response is shocking.

“We had some good fights…we had our moments,” the sisters reveal. “We’ve actually pulled a knife on each other once,” Kendall says. “We were fighting over lemons, believe it or not…one thing lead to another and a knife came out and I ran.”

Rob deems Kylie the badass sister (she pulled out the knife), and with the new blue, shaved hair she’s rockin’, we have to agree!

Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner Continue Their Joint Modeling Endeavors (This Time in Plaid)

As Mae West said, “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.” And that appears to be the approach the Jenner sisters are taking to their budding modeling careers. Kendall’s had more time in front of the spotlight, but between their photoshoots for PacSun and Steve Madden, and this latest Bruce Weber-shot spread for DuJour, they’re about to be the most in-demand package deal since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

In the photos, which feature Kendall, 18, and Kylie, 17, dancing, canoodling and mock-sparring with male models, the two wear a range of clothing from bustiers to plaid button-ups to colorful headwraps.

The leggy 18-year-old sported a pair of shredded skinnies and fluffed her brunette tresses as she made her way through the terminal.
